
The 10th Winter Paralympics, organised 12 days after the Winter Olympics, drew to a close in Whistler on Sunday 21st March in front of 600 sportsmen and women from 44 countries.
The French delegation of 25 sportsmen and women is returning from Vancouver with 6 medals. The performance of the downhill skiers - Nicolas Bérejny (Gold Medal for the Super-G), Vincent Gauthier Manuel (two Silver Medals and a Bronze for Super-G and slalom ) and Solène Jambaqué (two Silver Medals for the Super-G) meant that France was ranked 10th in these Paralympics. Before setting off for Vancouver, the French team had said it was their aim to be in the top 10.
Everyone is now looking ahead to the next Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games which will be held in London. That gives us two years to foster our dreams of medals and for France’s team to prepare for this new adventure.

After Tony Estanguet, two-time Olympic canoe slalom champion, who was there to support his French team mates at the Vancouver Olympics, EDF production manager Cyril Moré defended the French colours in Alpine skiing at the Vancouver Paralympic Games.
