Océans, a film directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud

EDF is partner of the film "Oceans"

After Winged Migration (Le Peuple Migrateur), Oceans is the second film directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud in partnership with EDF.

By way of this partnership, EDF emphasises its commitment to the conservation of water and biodiversity. This commitment constitutes one of the Group’s main lines of approach to protect our natural heritage and its wealth.

Oceans is a unique movie that required four years of filming on over fifty sites, stretching from the Arctic to the Antarctic, to capture more than 200 species, be they known, little-known or unknown. Oceans provides a dynamic perspective on marine biodiversity. Its approach combines aesthetic and scientific qualities.

In directing Oceans, the filming crew used new cinematographic techniques which made it possible to film submarine fauna as closely as possible and to capture fleeting moments of their dynamic behaviour.

Oceans has been released in French cinemas on 27 January 2010 and its worldwide release is planned for later in 2010.
